The shrink joint is used as a transition between old concrete/ clay/ cast iron pipes and new plastic pipes.
It is an exterior transition that requires a spigot.
All shrink joints are delivered with self-sealing gasket.
The shrink joints are assembled as follows:
Firstly, the gasket is attached to the coupling pipe, which then is attached to the shrink joint, and, hereafter, the shrinking of the joints begins with a gas burner. When the joint is correctly shrunk, it will form a 100% leak-proof transition between the joint and the coupling pipe.
Shrink joint advantages:
- Minor risk of subsidence damage at loose ground support
- A joint covers several pipe dimensions, meaning that the inventory value decreases significantly, and the task is solved perfectly each time.
H.L. Muffer ApS produce shrink joints in dimensions OD 32-OD1200. However, only stock-keeping to OD500.
